Activity:
Students will use the SHOM’s Envision and Express to design a creative mind map drawing about their personalities, their interests, and anything else they wish to include in order to brainstorm personal themes for future art projects. We will have Haleigh in charge of the drawing and writing station and Heather in charge of the collage and scissor station. Pre-Assessment/Discussion I will first explain to students SHOM and talk about what it means to envision and express with a class discussion and sharing with partners. Then we will talk about what a theme is and how they can play and explore in art. Lastly, I will show them an example of a mind map and tell them the prompt. We will also quickly talk about being kind and sharing materials.

Post-Assessment:
I will go around and ask students how they envisioned/expressed in
their mind maps. Through this, I should be able to see their play and exploration. I might ask leading questions such as:
What is your favorite part of your mind map?
What are some of your themes?
What materials did you use?
Materials:
Paper
Markers
Pencils
Pens
