Activity
Students will use the SHOM Express to play with pipe cleaners, pompoms, fabric, yarn, beads, etc. to create soft sculptures. I am going to have them sketch out their idea first then use the materials to make it.

Pre-Assessment/Discussion
I will first explain to students SHOM and talk about what it means to express with a class discussion and sharing with partners. Then we will talk about how to safely use the materials. We will talk about what a soft sculpture is. Lastly I will show them an example of some soft sculpture and tell them the prompt and ask them to come up with a general theme.
Post-Assessment
I will go around and ask students how they expressed with their project. Through this I should be able to see their play and exploration. I might ask leading questions such as:
· What object did you make?
· What is your favorite part of your sculpture?
· Why did you make what you did?
· What materials did you use?
